ABALONE HOUSE PRESENTS ‘TEA BY THE SEA’FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE South Africa, Paternoster, August 2010; CHEF Darren Stewart of the recently launched Abalone House in Paternoster presents daily afternoon ‘Tea by the Sea’. Served in the Conservatory-style Orchid Room and set amongst potted palms and flowering orchids, ‘Tea by the Sea’ recalls a time of yesteryear when Afternoon Tea was a daily occasion. Abalone House’s take on this classic refreshment offering allows guests to enjoy Paternoster’s famous West Coast sights and scenes including quaint bric-a-brac shops, pristine beaches and excellent rustic restaurants before retiring to the comfort of the Orchid Room that overlooks the ocean. Mouth-watering delicacies include Darren’s signature ‘Gateau St Honore’ cake – a heavenly ensemble of profiteroles and cream, choux pastry topped with roasted almonds and spun sugar. Other bite-size dainties include Springbok carpaccio en croute with beetroot, finger sandwiches of salmon and cucumber, fresh mini mushroom pies, featherlight scones and lemon meringues. This is accompanied by a selection of fine loose-leaf teas and freshly ground coffees. ‘Tea by the Sea’ at Abalone House is priced at R95.00 per person and served daily from 15h00 until 16h30 to resident guests and is also available by appointment to day-visitors. Methode Cap Classique sparking wines and refreshing Pimms cocktails are also available at an additional cost. ENDS/
